At Hunterdon Family Dental Care, we use the Fotona LightWalker laser system—one of the most advanced dental lasers available. This technology combines two complementary laser wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG) in a single system, allowing us to provide gentle, precise care across a wide range of procedures.

What is Laser Dentistry?

Laser dentistry uses focused light energy to perform dental procedures with exceptional precision and comfort. Our Er:YAG laser wavelength allows us to remove cavities, perform root canal treatments, and complete periodontal surgery without heating surrounding tissue. This means less discomfort, reduced need for anesthesia, and a much more comfortable experience overall.

The Nd:YAG wavelength provides laser biostimulation, which helps reduce swelling, minimize bleeding, and relieve pain naturally. Together, these technologies allow us to treat you more gently while achieving superior clinical results.

Does laser dentistry hurt?+

Most patients experience significantly less discomfort with laser dentistry compared to traditional methods. The laser is so gentle that many procedures require little to no anesthesia. You won't feel the vibrations or pressure associated with drilling.
